The purpose of Thermostatic Radiator Valves is to control the temperature of individual rooms, and when the room reach the required temperature the valve should shut off the heat from that radiator and allow the heat to go to other rooms. In most homes the problem is that only a couple of rooms, the first ones on the heating line switch off but the rest of the rooms do not reach the required temperature, therefore the Thermostatic Radiator Valve never switch off no matter how long you operate your heating for. In order to get all the Thermostatic Radiator Valves to operate efficiently, you need to have the top and bottom of the radiators heating. If the bottom section of some of your radiators are cold then your Thermostatic Valves will not function correctly.
