Building A House

What You Need To Know Before You Build

Get your Installer to zone your house properly ie. Bring the flow and return pipes from the living area, bedrooms, hot water tank and boiler back to one central point. By doing this if a problem arise you will have access to the zones. You cannot go wrong with this piping system.

For radiators

Set up your system to produce radiant heat from the radiators. By placing the clip on pipe thermometer supplied with the Oxyvent tank on the pipe leaving the boiler. This is used as a guild to make sure that the boiler stay in condensing mode 100% of its operating time.

The Oxyvent system is self-balancing to 2°C. This will produce more powerful radiant heat from the front panel of the radiators. The temperatures at ground level will be higher. The thermostatic radiator valves will be move active giving them more control over the room temperature. The occupant will have a higher comfort level.

Oxyvent will give the Installer confidence to produce nice neat work that will operate efficiently and perform well in all aspects and continue to do so.

Remember even though your installing a new system in your home, you will encounter the usual problems unless you install the Oxyvent system.  Contact Oxyvent if you need any advice.

Underfloor Heating

Underfloor Heating cannot operate efficiently unless the delta T is reduced

When installing the underfloor loops keep the lengths 100m or less. Do not over load the manifolds with too many loops. Get your installer to put in an extra set of manifolds if that is the situation. This is very important as once the loops are in place they cannot be changed. Please contact Oxyvent if you need further advice on this. Once the loops are laid correctly any problem that arise afterwards can easily be addressed over ground.
Insist that there is a flow rate of 3 to 4 Litres per minute through each loop in your Underfloor heating system. Do not settle for anything less.
By using the Oxyvent system your underfloor heating will never again air lock and the need for flushing is eliminated saving you on regular maintenance. The heat up time will be reduced by 50%. The floor will heat at a more even temperature, no more hot and cold patches on the floor.

Delta T
It is a proven fact that a Low delta T between the underfloor pipes and concreate floors allows a greater heat transfer. The heat up time is twice as fast. The floor temperatures are uniform due to stable smooth heat transfer. The floors are cooler to the touch and the room temperatures are high.

Balancing Radiators

At Oxyvent we feel that balancing radiators was not a good task as basically you are closing down a radiator that is heating perfectly well in order to heat another poorly operating radiator down the line. It is obvious that all radiators should be fully open and allowed to heat complete, this cannot be achieved without the Oxyvent Tank.  Even at a boiler setting of 60°C the Oxyvent Tank moves the water fast through the heating system, heating all radiators complete at a well-balanced temperature.  This allows the radiator to produce more radiant heat as opposed to convection heat without the Oxyvent, keeping the heat at ground level where it is needed most, and significantly reducing fuel bills.

Boiler Temperature

Most people set their boilers at a high temperature setting in order to obtain a comfortable heat level throughout the dwelling. When the Oxyvent System is installed the boiler temperature can be reduced to 60°C without sacrificing your comfort. This is achieved by reducing the inlet and outlet temperature of the radiator to product more radiant heat. Keeping the heat at ground level.
